"And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beath into the ship, so that it was now full."

The Sea of Galilee lay seven hundred feet below sea level with bordering mountains that rose several thousand feet high. Cool winds from the mountain peaks would sweep down onto the sea and stir up strong, violent winds. The disciples' boat was caught in just such a storm. Jesus, however, was alseep in the stern--until His disciples frantically awakended Him with, "Master, carest thou not that we perish?" (v. 38). Do you know that feeling when, overwhelemed by the circumstances of life, you cry out to God?

Undaunted by either their question of the storm, Jesus stood, rebuked the wind and commanded the sea, "Peace, be still!" (v. 39). Calmness came immediatley. We human being are limited by physical constraints and nature's law, but God is not. In fact, what are obstacels to us are throughfares for God. The key is trusting God in spite of what appears to be imminent disaster.
So, whatever your senses are telling you about your current situation and however overwhelemed you may be feeling, kinw that God cares deeply about you and that He can calm any storm in your life.
